A quick update about the fourth book, The Continuum, in The Progenitor Chronicles.
The Continuum – Update One
The final book in The Progenitor Chronicles is currently in the first round of editing. This round usually takes me the longest because I have to ask myself the most questions. They range anywhere from "Is this scene big enough?" to "How did I explain that in the last books?"
The Continuum has the added pressure of matching the feel of the first book which I published three years ago. It's difficult because as your write you grow. I'm not in the same place I was. Plus my writing skills have improved. I'm not walking around as blindly as I once did.
That being said, I'm excited to end this final chapter of The Progenitor Chronicles. The Continuum has brought me to a better balance writing wise. I'm noticing the flow better than I did before.
Without giving too much away, The Continuum explores the corruptive forces that are influencing the Universe. Xendara and friends get to play heroes more than victims because they are in a different place. Their powers are bolstered, they've regrouped, and have a plan to protect The Continuum. That doesn't mean that plan always goes their way.
One thing I wanted to explore in in the fourth book is friendship. This book is about being a community that works together. Even thought Xendara is at the helm, she is not standing alone. I didn't want her to sand alone, because no one should.
The good news is Xendara’s best friends are with her in this forth installment. Darijus, Acacia, Ronan, and Xalvador are back for book four. At the end of The Ancients I've added the final characters needed to complete a certain plot I had in mind from book one. I've made sure to include a few people we haven't seen since the first book. They might not be there for everything (just a glimpse in passing), but I wanted a group thing similar to the end of The Return of the Jedi.
Absalom of Desdemona will have a much bigger role to play in the good vs. evil trope. He's more destructive than he was in The Progenitor. You get a real feel for the kinds of things he's put his people through while occupying the Six Systems. If you don't already hate him, you will in this book.
But of course the ultimate villain is still lurking in the shadows. The question is: will Xendara stop his corruption from reaching all of the multiverses?
You'll just have to wait until the book is ready to read.
As a final update, the cover is done. Stay tuned for the cover reveal.
That's all I have for The Continuum – Update One.
I suppose I need to get back to writing/editing my book.
May you prosper as the Golden Wood tree!
